When do Poultry entries open and close?

Entries for the Melbourne Royal Poultry Competition open on Wednesday 24 June 2026 and will close on Wednesday 12 August 2026

When will the schedule be available online?

The schedule for the Melbourne Royal Poultry Competition is available now and can be viewed under Schedules and Forms.​

When and where do I deliver my entries?

Poultry and eggs are to be delivered to the Melbourne Showgrounds on Wednesday 23 September 2026. 

If you require vehicle access to the Pavilion, birds must be delivered between 3:00pm and 6:30pm. 

Entries can be delivered earlier than 3:00pm, but they must be walked or taken on trollies from the Gate 7 Car Park to the Pavilion. 

Note: there will be no delivery on judging day. 

When is judging?

Judging for the Melbourne Royal Poultry Competition will take place at the Melbourne Showgrounds on Thursday September 24, 2026 (the first day of the 2026 Melbourne Royal Show)

Can I attend judging?

Exhibitors are welcome to attend judging, though please be aware that you will not be able to park a vehicle in the Gate 7 car park. Access passes for the day will be provided. 

When and where can I collect my birds?

Poultry can be collected from the Showgrounds on Sunday 4 October between 6:00pm and 9:00pm or Monday 5 October between 7:00am and 12:00pm. 

Vehicle access is via Gate 7.

When is the Melbourne Royal Show?

The dates for the 2026 Melbourne Royal Show are Thursday 24 September – Sunday 4 October. Poultry exhibits will be on display for the duration of Show.  

How can I get a printed catalogue?

Printed catalogues may only be pre-purchased upon entry. The Poultry Catalogue will also be available online.
