Will the 2026 Melbourne Royal Poultry Competition be proceeding?
Due to the current uncertainty around the expansion of H5N1 bird flu, Melbourne Royal has made the difficult decision to cancel the Poultry Competition at the 2026 Melbourne Royal Show. Following consultation with Agriculture Victoria and the Chief Veterinary Officer team, Melbourne Royal is taking this precautionary step to protect the health and wellbeing of the Victorian poultry community.
What do I do if I have already entered the competition?
As communicated via email, all exhibitors who have entered the 2026 Melbourne Royal Poultry Competition will receive a full refund for all entry fees and catalogue purchases made to date. If you have not received an expected refund by 21 August 2026, please reach out to poultry@melbourneroyal.com.au.
