The Melbourne Royal Australian International Beer Awards may now be the largest annual beer competition in the world, assessing both draught and packaged beer, but it wasn’t always the case and from humble beginnings, the Awards proudly celebrate 30 years in 2023.

With judging of the 2023 Australian International Beer Awards’ having taken place at Melbourne Showgrounds from 15 – 18 May, Melbourne Royal was thrilled to welcome the return of international judges, some from as far away as Spain and the United States of America.

Melbourne Royal has announced that entries are now open for the 2023 Australian International Beer Awards and tickets are on sale for the exclusive Trophy Presentation Dinner, which is known for being a sell-out event.

Melbourne Royal announced the trophy winners for the 2022 Australian International Beer Awards last night at the sell-out presentation dinner in the spectacular Victoria Pavilion at Melbourne Showgrounds, with more than 900 guests from the beer and brewing industry.

Judging of the Melbourne Royal Australian International Beer Awards was held over four days at the Melbourne Showgrounds, with our judges deliberating on the champion beers and breweries of this year’s competition on the final day, Friday 13 May.
