Since the first ploughing match held by the Moonee Ponds Farmers' Society in 1848, the Melbourne Royal Show has evolved into Victoria’s largest annual community event. 

With a long and proud history, Melbourne Royal® has become synonymous with world-class competitions and award programs, which continue to grow and inspire excellence year on year. 

Melbourne Royal oversees a unique collection of artefacts and stories representing the organisation’s rich history, which are often displayed onsite at Melbourne Showgrounds, online via the Virtual Museum and at the Melbourne Royal Show.
