Vale Damian Noseda

The Melbourne Royal Board, management and staff were saddened to learn of the passing of Honorary Life Member, Damian Noseda.

Damian began his journey as a Horse Steward at the Melbourne Royal Show in the early 1980s, assisting his father Jim with the popular Tent Pegging event. Over the years, Damian served as a Steward before being promoted to an assistant role in the swabbing area, located under the Ringmaster’s Rooms.

Known for his reliability and unwavering dedication, Damian approached his duties with a blend of professionalism and humour. His expertise and friendly nature made him a valued figure at equine events across the country, where he formed many lasting friendships.

In addition to his work at the Melbourne Royal Show, Damian also served as a Horse Steward at the Summer Royal and various regional Victorian shows. In recognition of his significant contributions, he was honoured with a Melbourne Royal Honorary Life Membership in 2015.

Damian will be greatly missed by the Melbourne Royal community and all who knew him. Melbourne Royal extends their condolences to Damian's family and friends.
