Top of the flock for Finley High School

Finley High School has taken out the coveted Interbreed Champion Ram at the Melbourne Royal Sheep Competition.
The Reserve Interbreed Championship Ram was won by Boonong Park Hampshire Downs in Mortlock, Victoria, operated by Kane Hildred and Bridget Leahy. The couple also own Montone Corriedale Stud and continued their winning streak by taking out the Breeder’s Group Championship.
Ellingerrin Border Leicester Stud, Modewarre, Victoria, operated by principal Heather Stoney, won Interbreed Championship Ewe.
Bron Ellis from Sweetfield Corriedale Stud, Mount Moriac, won Interbreed Sire’s Progeny Championships - Sire: Sweetfield, 44/16.
The champion ram and ewe of the Melbourne Royal Sheep Interbreed sees the best of the best from almost 20 breeds competing for the prestigious titles.
It promotes and celebrates excellence in sheep breeding and provides an opportunity for breeders to compete, benchmark the quality of their livestock, and receive invaluable feedback from well-respected industry expert judges.
The Royal Melbourne Show Sheep Competition was held at the Melbourne Royal Show on 22-23 September in the Kubota Australia Livestock Pavilion.
