It’s Showtime 2020 style –Celebrating the Show Online!
This is a special Show edition of RASV News to launch an exciting program of online content and activities to celebrate the Royal Melbourne Show online this year from 19-29 September.
The Royal Melbourne Show is a much-loved iconic event and whilst Victorians are unable to attend this year, we have produced content on our Royal Melbourne Show social and digital platforms for your enjoyment and to keep the spirit of the Show alive in 2020.
There is something for all ages to enjoy from live farm-cam, interviews, videos, photos from past Shows along with a mask making competition, theme days and much more.
The RASV relies on hundreds of volunteers and exhibitors to successfully present the Royal Melbourne Show. A key part of the Show online program is devoted to celebrating and acknowledging some of the amazing volunteers and exhibitors who help bring the Show to life each year. Our Show online Ambassador, Lyndsey Douglas has done a wonderful job interviewing a number of competitors, exhibitors and Show fans, which I trust you’ll enjoy watching.
There’s also a wonderful series of podcast interviews hosted by Oli Le Lievre from Humans of Agriculture for you to enjoy. Humans of Agriculture is an organisation with a mission to discover more about our food and fibre system from the people involved in it. Oli Le Lievre interviews six Royal Melbourne Show personalities about their experiences in agriculture and of course, competing and volunteering at the Royal Melbourne Show.
Thank you to everyone who has supported the RASV in Celebrating the Show Online. We have received wonderful support and I thank everyone who has contributed to the content and provided sponsorship and prizes.
In particular, thank you to Black Hawk, Brighter, Coffex Coffee Roasters, Nutrien Ag Solutions, RACV, Spotlight, Thomas Cook, Tuffrock, VicForests, Woolworths as well as Union Road Traders. Without your generous support it would not have been possible.
I particularly thank Sally Capp, Lord Mayor of Melbourne for her wonderful message of support, which you can view online.
It wouldn’t be Showtime without showbags, I am pleased to advise that there is a huge variety available for purchase via royalshow.com.au.
I am fortunate to lead a wonderful team at RASV and I am most grateful for the amazing work they have done in producing the online content. It’s been a challenging year and I trust that what has been created will bring much joy and make you smile.
New content will be progressively uploaded onto royalshow.com.au and Royal Melbourne Show social media and digital platforms over the 11 days from 19-29 September.
I encourage you and your family and friends to explore royalshow.com.au over the next two weeks and follow @royalmelbshow on Facebook and Instagram.
I trust you enjoy Celebrating the Show Online from 19-29 September!
Thank you for your ongoing support and take care.
