Melbourne Showgrounds Update

The past month has once again showcased the incredible diversity of events that make Melbourne Showgrounds one of Victoria's busiest and most dynamic event destinations.

From major trade exhibitions and live entertainment to internationally recognised food and beverage awards, our precinct continues to bring together industry, innovation and community.

A standout event on the calendar was the Bunnings Trade Show, which welcomed thousands of trade professionals, suppliers and exhibitors. The event highlighted the latest products, technologies and innovations shaping the building and construction industry, reinforcing Melbourne Showgrounds' reputation as a premier venue for Australia's leading business events.

Over 10,000 music fans also flocked to the Dangerous Goods event, where three stages across the precinct delivered an unforgettable night of live entertainment. With world-class production, premium facilities and convenient transport access, the event demonstrated the flexibility of Melbourne Showgrounds as a large scale live music venue.

Looking ahead, there's plenty to be excited about. CANTER Con is taking place on 25–26 July. This dynamic equestrian event brings together coaches and leaders from Equestrian Australia, Pony Club Australia, and Riding for the Disabled to elevate coaching standards across the sector. Through collaboration, professional development and the sharing of best practice, CANTER Con provides a valuable opportunity for coaches to build their skills, strengthen connections across the equestrian community, and contribute to the future of quality coaching in Australia.

The 4x4 Show returns later this year, transforming Melbourne Showgrounds into Australia's ultimate destination for off-road enthusiasts, outdoor adventurers and leading industry exhibitors. Together with a packed calendar of exhibitions, festivals and special events, the months ahead promise something for every visitor.

It's also an exciting time for Melbourne Royal's internationally recognised Food & Beverage Awards. Judging is now underway for the 2026 Australian International Spirits Awards, with a record number of entries received this year. This milestone reflects the continued growth and global reputation of the Awards, while reinforcing the confidence producers place in Melbourne Royal's independent judging process.

The momentum continues later this month with entries opening for the Melbourne Royal Wine Awards. We look forward to welcoming wineries from across Australia to take part in the country's most prestigious wine competition, celebrating excellence and providing valuable benchmarking opportunities for producers of every size.

Thank you for being part of the Melbourne Showgrounds community. We look forward to welcoming you to the precinct over the coming months as another exciting season of events unfolds.
