Coffee roasters invited to show their best to the world at the Australian International Coffee Awards

RASV CEO Paul Guerra said the competition is a fantastic way for coffee roasters, both locally and internationally, to be recognised for their great work.
“The Australian International Coffee Awards provide the opportunity for coffee roasters to be recognized for their quality brews. There is so much that goes on before the beans make it to the café and this process is often overlooked when we grab a coffee from our local cafés,” Mr Guerra said.
The competition offers coffee roasters the opportunity to benchmark their products against industry standards, receive feedback from independent industry experts, market their coffee with a seal of quality and gain access to an exclusive medal winners’ marketing and promotions toolkit.
“Participants in the Australian International Coffee Awards can benchmark their products against industry standards, receive feedback from independent industry experts, market their trophy winning coffee, and promote their products through associated events,” Mr Guerra said.
This year’s judging panel will again be overseen by William Angliss Institute Coffee Academy Teacher Coordinator Melissa Caia as Head Judge. With a hospitality career spanning more than 20 years, Ms Caia will lead a panel of judges, selected from across the coffee industry with outstanding industry knowledge and expertise.
“The high caliber of industry experts as judges, headed by Melissa, not only cements the credibility of the awards, but offers producers who participate a unique and highly valued opportunity to have their roasts assessed by the global industry’s best,” Mr Guerra said.
With judging to take place from Wednesday 20 to Friday 22 March 2019 at Melbourne Showgrounds and the trophy winners to be announced in March, coffee roasters are encouraged to get their entries in early to be part of this prestigious competition.
Entries for the competition close on Friday 22 February 2019. Visit the AICA website more information or to enter.
