Entries for the 2019 Royal Melbourne Show Beef Cattle competition are now open with Angus the feature breed.
Conducted by The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RASV), the Royal Melbourne Show Beef Cattle competition awards some of the country’s most prestigious prizes and trophies including the RASV Interbreed Supreme Beef Breed Exhibit.
This year, RASV is delighted to welcome experienced cattle judge, Mrs Donna Robson to the Royal Melbourne Show Beef Cattle Competition as judge of the Angus feature breed.
CEO of the RASV, Mr Paul Guerra is thrilled to announce Angus are the feature breed along with other new initiatives for this year’s Royal Melbourne Show Beef Cattle competition.

“The RASV is committed to maximising the appeal and success of the Royal Melbourne Show Beef Cattle competition. To encourage even greater participation, we have reduced the entry fee for our members by 6%.
This year, the highly successful Royal Melbourne Show Beef Cattle auction will include 25 live lots in what is sure to be an exciting sale. Adding to the excitement is the sale of a heifer donated by Tony & Karen Golding, Little Meadows Angus, WA. The proceeds from the sale of this heifer will support the work of charity Black Dog Ride to assist in raising awareness of mental health in the community.
New youth showmanship classes have been included to provide young Angus exhibitors with an opportunity to compete for fantastic prizes and be declared the champion Angus parader at the 2019 Royal Melbourne Show.
The Royal Melbourne Show is also hosting the World Shorthorn Conference with an expanded class offering across Shorthorn, Beef Shorthorn, Australian Shorthorn and Dairy Shorthorn breeds.
With producers, agents and industry body representatives in attendance, the Royal Melbourne Show Beef Cattle competition celebrates the contribution breeders make to Victorian agriculture.
Entries close for the 2019 Royal Melbourne Show Beef Cattle Competition on Friday 26 July, with judging in The Livestock Pavilion from Saturday 28 September – Tuesday 1 October.
The 2019 Royal Melbourne Show will be held from Saturday 21 September to Tuesday 1 October at Melbourne Showgrounds.
