2022 Distinguished Awards

The Melbourne Royal Board proudly presented the following Distinguished Service and Achievement awards for 2022 at the President’s Luncheon on Thursday 22 September in the MasterChef Pavilion at the 2022 Melbourne Royal Show.
President’s Medal:
The highest honour a contributor and/or supporter of Melbourne Royal (who is not a councillor) can receive. It recognises those who serve the Melbourne Royal selflessly over extended periods of time.
- Charles Blackwood
For exceptional and dedicated veterinary service and advice for the Melbourne Royal Show and agricultural competitions for more than 35 years.
- Helen Wright
For outstanding contributions to the Sheep and Fleece competitions for 37 years and exhibiting for nearly four decades.
- Tim Morgan
For commitment and passion in celebrating the long and proud history of the Melbourne Royal, as a former employee for 30 years and a volunteer since retiring in 2005.
Honorary Life Membership:
Recognises distinguished service or extraordinary contribution to Melbourne Royal by a member of the Melbourne Royal
- Edward Troutbeck
For involvement in the Dairy Cattle exhibition at the Melbourne Royal Show since 1951 and support as a member of Melbourne Royal since 1967
Speed the Plough Medal:
The Speed the Plough Medals recognise distinguished service or extraordinary contribution to Melbourne Royal by a non-member of the Melbourne Royal.

For her passion and support of the Melbourne Royal Show with involvement in the CWA and the Art, Craft & Cookery Competition - Adnan Mansour
For outstanding service, commitment, and leadership as a former Melbourne Royal employee from 1996 to 2009. - Ron Condon
For exceptional service and commitment to elevating the Melbourne Royal Show Alpaca Competition. - Michelle Bradbury
For outstanding service and commitment as a Melbourne Royal employee since 2004. - Karen Vassallo
For outstanding service, commitment, and leadership as a Melbourne Royal employee since 2011.
