2021 Melbourne Royal® Wine Awards proceed to give the wine industry something to celebrate

Judging of the 2021 Melbourne Royal® Wine Awards is set to take place from Monday 15 - Thursday 18 November at Melbourne Showgrounds.
First held in 1884, the Melbourne Royal® Wine Awards is one of Australia’s oldest and most respected wine shows recognising and rewarding excellence in Australian winemaking
The Award Program is supported by a committee of highly respected wine industry representatives who provide advice and counsel to Melbourne Royal®, maintaining the program’s relevance and to develop its future direction.
The ongoing challenges of COVID-19 prompted Melbourne Royal® together with it’s Wine Awards Committee to take a proactive approach to ensuring the Awards can be judged in 2021.
Committed to providing every opportunity for judging of the 2021 Awards to proceed, the Melbourne Royal® and its’ Committee are implementing a range of COVID Safe measures to ensure the health and safety of all involved in judging of the Wine Awards this year.
New date announced for Awards Presentation
With restrictions surrounding indoor gatherings set to be lifted when Victoria reaches the 90 per cent double dose vaccination target for Victorians 12 years and over, predicted to be Wednesday 24 November, events will return to Melbourne Showgrounds.
Melbourne Royal® is excited to announce that the Melbourne Royal® Wine Awards Presentation will now be held on Thursday 2 December in the fabulous Victoria Pavilion at the Melbourne Showgrounds.
Up to 38 trophies will be awarded on the night, culminating in the presentation of the coveted Jimmy Watson Memorial Trophy. A selection of the 2021 trophy-winning wines will be paired with a meal featuring medal-winning produce from throughout Victoria.
Tickets for the event will go on sale in early November.
