2021 Australian International Coffee Awards cancelled due to COVID-19
26 Aug 2021 / Coffee
The organisers of the Australian International Coffee Awards (AICA), The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RASV), together with the AICA Industry Advisory Group, regret to advise that the 2021 AICA has been cancelled.
The health and safety of all involved in the AICA is of the highest priority for RASV and in the current climate and with regard to restrictions, cancelling the event is believed to be the best option.
All entrants to the 2021 AICA will be provided a full refund within 30 days. This is a considerable administrative process and the RASV thanks you for your understanding and patience.
In brighter news, there is much to look forward to in 2022. Recognising the need to empower the industry, RASV together with the AICA Industry Advisory Group have commenced planning for a series of coffee sensory training sessions next year. These sessions will bring together some of the industry’s best roasters, baristas and coffee writers through a series of masterclasses focusing on assessing, scoring and providing feedback.
Further initiatives for 2022 will be announced later in the year, and the enhancements to the 2021 program will be carried over to next year. It is planned that the 2022 program will open for entries in June and that judging will take place in August.
The RASV would like to take this opportunity to thank the AICA Industry Advisory Group, sponsors and industry partners for their unwavering dedication and enthusiasm for the Awards.
As part of our commitment to continuously improve and maximise the appeal and success of the Australian International Coffee Awards, we welcome your suggestions and feedback. Please contact Damian Nieuwesteeg, Manager, Award Programs – Food, Beverage & Horticulture, by email coffee@rasv.com.au.
